it is an esthetic procedure during which the excess sagging skin and fatty deposits are removed from the eyelids and which corrects the orbicular muscle of eye, of the upper and lower eyelid.
Blepharoplasty helps to correct the folds and the so-called "eye bags" which make your face look older and more tired whilst if the changes are intense, these folds restrict and thus impair patient's vision. However, not all wrinkles and crow's feet can be eliminated and the darker discolorations under the eyes and drooping eyebrows will not be removed.
Eyelid plastic surgery is usually performed under local anesthesia.
During the procedure the surgeon makes incisions in the place of natural creases of the upper eyelids and under the lower eyelashes. The incisions may be extended in order to make additional corrections.
During procedure the excision of skin and muscle and removal of excess fatty deposits is performed. Incisions are closed with a fine suture.
The positive effect of the rejuvenating and correcting eyelid surgery may remain visible for many years and sometimes it may even be permanent.
