It is a frequently performed plastic surgery procedure consisting in changing the size and (or) the shape of mammary glands by placing implants in the breast area. The implants used are filled with silicone or saline.
The implants used are filled with silicone or saline. The safety of both kinds of prostheses is similar, however the esthetic effect is slightly better when silicone implants are used.
The way of inserting implants depends an anatomical condition of breasts, location of subsequent scars and on many other coexisting factors as well as on the plastic surgeon's preferences.
Incisions are made in inconspicuous places - usually in the fold under the breast. Then, by lifting and moving the tissues of the gland (sometimes the breast muscle), the surgeon forms a special "pocket" in which the breast implant is to be placed.
Complete effects of the procedure are visible after a couple of months
