Nose surgery usually lasts from 1 to 2 hours and in more complicated cases - slightly longer.
During the procedure the skin of the nose is separated from the supporting osteocartilaginous construction which is then reshaped in order to achieve a desired form. Majority of plastic surgeons perform an internal nose correction, making incisions on the inside of the nostrils. Sometimes, however, the surgeries are performed with the use of an open method - especially in more complicated cases.
After the operation a dressing which supports the new shape of the nose is applied (depending on the requirements - either a cast or a plaster). Dressings are also applied inside the nasal passages to stabilize the septum.
